DeltaCube GNSS monitoring: smarter, safer, and cost-effective
Buildings can deform due to various causes, such as foundation wear (especially with wooden foundations), structural degradation or design errors, subsidence from climate change, or direct damage caused by nearby construction work.
Traditional deformation measurements track changes in shape and position of a building in local XYZ coordinates. These measurements have been performed for decades by land surveyors using leveling instruments, total stations, and more recently, 3D laser scanners and photogrammetric drone imagery. While highly accurate, these methods are costly. Every repeat measurement requires new site visits, personnel, equipment, and logistics.
DeltaIoT offers a smart, wireless solution: the DeltaCube, a GNSS-based IoT sensor that works fully plug-and-play. This innovative technology eliminates the need for manual re-measurements and data processing. With the sensor permanently in place, significantly more data points are collected, increasing both the accuracy and reliability of the results. At the same time, operational costs are reduced, and safety during building deformation monitoring is improved.
DeltaCube on construction sites
In the development of new industrial zones or residential areas, soil preloading with sand is often required to prepare the ground for road construction. An increasing number of projects using preloading are now turning to the DeltaCube for efficient and continuous monitoring of settlement and deformation.
